New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer at 0°June 20, 2020, 11:41pm PT ~ Theme: Changes to Heart and Home

New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer at 0°June 20, 2020, 11:41pm PT

(Not visible in North America. Visible in parts of African continent including Central African Republic, Congo, and Ethiopia; south of Pakistan and northern India; and China.)

This Saturday we have our annual Full Solar Eclipse at 0° of Cancer, the same day as the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s also a total or full Solar Eclipse. Solar Eclipses occur on the New Moon and Lunar eclipses on the Full Moon. This is a very powerful eclipse!

Eclipses signal endings, beginnings and major life events and changes. If we trace back to previous eclipses we can often pinpoint major life changes occurring around the time they occurred. *See link below for previous eclipses

Eclipses are not to be feared, but to be revered, as change is a natural part of life. Each eclipse has different power levels and ways it will uniquely impact us depending on our own individual charts.

Some years we’ll feel eclipses deeper than other times depending if the eclipse is aspecting personal points in our charts.

We can find ourselves feeling tired near an eclipse, or confused, feeling a lot but not knowing where it’s coming from, sentimental for the past, missing people or involved in drama. People can come into our lives unexpectedly, and leave as quick as they came.

Unlike a typical New Moon, an eclipse is not a great time to set intentions for the lunar cycle. It’s a great time to rest, reflect and take it easy and to meditate. In Vedic Astrology, eclipses are one of the most auspicious occurrences. It’s not recommended to start projects, jobs, relationships, contracts etc., for the week before and after the eclipse. It’s best to rest.

This particular eclipse is about Cancererian themes – The divine mother (or our own mothers), water, nourishment, nurturing, our emotions, the heart and home. To have an eclipse here brings these themes to light.

You can expect changes to your heart or your home and any other 4th house themes such as mother, ancestral roots and emotional wellbeing.

The themes occurring now harken back to the events related to the previous two Cancer eclipses:

July 12, 2018 – 20° Cancer

July 2, 2019 – 10° Cancer

The one on Saturday is the last in this set.

What occurred in your life around those times? Look back over the past two years and see where these themes came up. If you had major life events, chances are there’s aspects in your chart being lit up.

Cancer energy is all about allowing ourselves to feel very deeply, to care for ourselves and our homes, to nurture ourselves and others and connected to our hearts. It’s the sign of the feminine principle, and allowing a softer, less restricted way of being.

Since the nodes of the moon are involved in eclipses, it’s important to look at the area the eclipse takes place and also it’s opposite sign. The opposite sign of Cancer is Capricorn.

You may find yourself battling this summer between the Cancerian needs to rest, to be in your heart and to relax and stay nourished and the Capricornian desire to achieve, to get out there and make things happen.

One way isn’t better than the other, the key is to integrate BOTH sides. To balance Capricorn’s high achievement and Cancer’s rest and recoup.

Feel into the energy and do what’s best for you. Take a time out this weekend if you can! Tend to your heart and home.
