Theme: Higher Love
by Andrea Dupuis
Welcome to Pisces season 🐟
As the Sun enters the sign on the 18th, we have a New Moon here on the 19th that brings us deeper into our spirituality. We can become more attuned, become more psychic and feel more connected to God and the divine.
This sign is symbolic of the culmination at the end of a journey. It’s the 12th sign in the zodiac, the last sign, so it represents the spiritual wisdom attained while travelling through the other signs. It’s a “Moksha” or “Enlightenment ” house in Vedic astrology. This house represents themes related to our spirituality, dream world and intuition.
On the shadow side, a New Moon here can bring feelings of isolation, disillusionment, loneliness and disturbed sleep. This New Moon is also in a conjunction with Saturn – so the themes of isolation and loneliness can be even more prominent.
The best way to deal with any of these feelings in and around this New Moon is to tune into the deepest levels of divine love possible. With Venus also here in its exaltation point, love in the higher sense is a huge theme right now.
Neptune is the modern ruler of Pisces and is the higher octave of Venus. It’s all about love, compassion, pleasure and enjoyment combined with deep spirituality. It represents a higher love and wisdom available to us beyond material venusian desires.
It’s far beyond romantic love – it’s ineffable love.
In our own personal spiritual journeys we all come to a similar conclusion: that love, in the higher sense, is what we’re here to give and experience. Almost every spiritual teaching ancient and modern leads us to this understanding.
The song “Bring me a Higher Love” could be a theme song for this New Moon 🙂
Pisces brings a deep healing energy wherever it goes and especially in dreamtime – this week you can expect to receive spiritual healing in your dreams, emotions, even through your visions and through prayer.
During this New Moon, spend as much time as you can in water, near water, cleansing and purifying with water, and drinking lots of water. If you’re near the ocean or a lake, it’s a great time to go for a swim and let the water soothe you.
As the last sign, this season signals the end of a winter season and the beginning of the spring season in the Northern Hemisphere as we approach the Equinox on March 21 – the beginning of Aries season where the vibe completely changes. At that time we enter a much more action orientated fiery and intense time.
All of course depends on your own personal placements and chart. Wherever Pisces is for us in our charts is the area we can experience the most profound connection to divine source – or on the shadow side, it’s where we can feel the most disillusioned, lost and in the most amount of fantasy. It’s where we can’t quite see things clearly.
Remember, nothing in astrology can be generalised – so much depends on the unique interplay of your planets to the transiting planets. Learning to read your own chart is the best way to see how you will be impacted uniquely by each transit.
Pisces energy is compassionate, soft and kind and connected to the Greek goddess Aphrodite energy. Enjoy the quiet time now and nurture yourself with the deepest most proud love you can give yourself. Tune into the Piscean divine love this week and let it nourish you. ♡

What exactly is a New Moon?
A New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are Conjunct – meaning they are together in the same constellation in the sky.
The moon changes signs every couple of days and the sun every month or so. When the two most powerful luminaries conjunct and come together (the Divine Masculine principle represented by the Sun and divine feminine principle, represented by the Moon) it’s a powerful time to plant seeds’ that will be harvested in the full moon in a couple weeks.
It’s also when the Conscious (Sun) and Unconscious (Moon) combine – and we get deep spiritual insights. The unconscious becomes conscious around the New Moon.
Farmers and gardeners who plant by the moon (biodynamic farming, and the ancients knew this of course) know to plant seeds on the New Moon – especially the first day when the moon is completely invisible.
They harvest, prune and weed during the Full Moon when the moon is bright and full.
