The constellation of Virgo is one of the most misunderstood of the twelve zodiac signs. Most people think of Virgo as a detailed, type-A, uptight, clean and pure sign – and while many of those traits are Virgoan, Virgo energy is so much more than that.
It’s one of the most spiritually insightful and underrated signs in the zodiac.
Virgo is represented by an image of a Virgin – In Greek translations, the word virgin meant “one unto herself.” Virgo is the archetype of the High Priestess – a woman who is so pure – so devoted to herself, the truth and to the spiritual realms. She receives clear insight from the divine. Her purity helps her see with sacred vision.
With a New Moon in Virgo, it’s time to purify – our homes, our bodies, our inner worlds. We can create a new start in the area of our bodies, our daily routines and our health. If you’ve been wanting a new exercise routine, a cleanse, or to declutter – now is a great time.
Use the energy of Virgo to clean up your life physically and metaphorically. Every fall (or spring in the southern hemisphere), the Virgo New Moon comes along and pushes us to organize ourselves and our lives before the next season begins.
A classic example of a Virgo season task would be getting your taxes in order, or having a conversation with a friend about things that aren’t working, or getting rid of clothes you no longer wear.
Having clean homes and clean habits helps us to connect deeper with the divine. It creates the space for us to devote ourselves to what’s important.
Virgo challenges us to devote ourselves to something that really matters to us, whether it’s a cause, our bodies, a belief… Virgo asks us to be devotional and make the change.
With a hard square aspect to Mars we may feel an intensity and frustration in the areas of our lives that feel out of order. We may feel an urgency to get things resolved swiftly or make quick and fast changes. Yet, with 5 planets in retrograde right now, things will move very slowly, don’t expect quick change!
It can feel like nothing seems to be moving fast. Stay the course.
Now is the time to enjoy the slowness, the slowness of this earthly New Moon.
