New Moon in Taurus ~ Wednesday April 22, 2020 @ 7:26pm PST~ Theme: Abundance & Enjoyment

New Moon in Taurus Wednesday April 22, 2020 @ 7:26pm PST

This week we have a New Moon in the sign of Taurus. The Moon loves to be in Taurus, it’s natural exaltation point. A place it feels at home, peaceful and comfortable.

As much as the Moon loves it here, it’s receiving many hard Square aspects. Taurus related topics may feel very challenging and heavy now.

Taurus is the natural ruler of the 2nd House – the house associated with money and material possessions. It also rules our self worth. Self worth and financial abundance have been tied since ancient times!

This New Moon we may feel heaviness around topics related to our material abundance and self worth. It’s a very big world-wide theme right now, so it’s no surprise the planets are aligning to have us contemplate this theme.

Taurus is also ruled by Venus, the planet of enjoyment and pleasure. We may experience a harder time enjoying the simple pleasures this New Moon.

This process is very natural and can be utilized for good. This New Moon is asking us to go inward to examine and contemplate our relationship to wealth and abundance especially in relationship to the squares being made:

Square with Jupiter  – What are your beliefs about money and self worth?

Square with Saturn – Do you take responsibility and have discipline in these areas?

Square with Neptune – Do you overspend or have any illusions about money to sort out?

We also have the Moon conjunct Uranus – the planet of expecting the unexpected and upheaval. Expect massive change in the area of your life Taurus rules! It will be unique for each person based on your Rising, Sun and Moon.

With all this heavy and unexpected energy, it’s a good time to go inward, to contemplate and meditate on the topic of money and your relationship to it. The time around a New Moon asks us to become very yin-like instead of taking action.

A New Moon is the best time to set your intentions for the next lunar cycle related to Taurus themes. After contemplating the questions, set time aside to envision how you’d like your future to look.

Avoid taking any new actions until a few days after the New Moon. Instead watch your dreams closely, listen to any ‘downloads’ you get or any deep insights. The veil is thin, listen deeply.

What exactly creates a New Moon?

A New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are Conjunct – meaning they are together in the same constellation in the sky.

The moon changes signs every couple of days and the sun every month or so. When the two most powerful luminaries conjunct and come together (the Divine Masculine principle represented by the Sun and divine feminine principle, represented by the Moon) it’s a powerful time to plant seeds’ that will be harvested in the full moon in a couple weeks.

It’s also when the Conscious (Sun) and Unconscious (Moon) combine – and we get deep spiritual insights. The unconscious becomes conscious around the New Moon.

Farmers and gardeners who plant by the moon (biodynamic farming, and the ancients knew this of course) know to plant seeds on the New Moon – especially the first day when the moon is completely invisible.

They harvest, prune and weed during the Full Moon when the moon is bright and full.
