New Moon in Sagittarius ~ November 25 ~ Theme: Love & Money

NEW MOON Report for November 25 @ 4° Sagittarius

This Tuesday we are graced with a lovely New Moon in the sign of Sagittarius, just days after the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter (the two great benefics!) on Sunday.

This brings sweetness to all of us. The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter, and when the Moon joins with the sign associated with Jupiter good luck prevails!

Don’t be surprised if you receive gifts, have pleasant conversations and overall feel quite light and good. Especially in the area of love and money. How it’ll impact you also depends where Sagittarius sits in your chart (see your Rising Sign).

Typically the energy of a New Moon is overlooked as it’s much subtler than a Full Moon which feels charged and intense. The energy of a New Moon is quite underrated.

This month while both the Sun and Moon are in Sagittarius, extroverted and outgoing sign – we may feel more energy than we typically would around a New Moon.

A New Moon is where the moon is literally gone ‘dark’ and invisible, the sky is void of moonlight, if you look up there’s no moon to see. It’s a fabulous time for rituals.

Where a Full Moon brings a lot of consciousness with the light of the Sun (consciousness) shining a light on the Moon (our minds and emotions), a New Moon conjoins the Sun and the Moon, making it invisible, heralding a time to go inward.

In ancient astrology, a New Moon also called a Dark Moon symbolizes the start of a new lunar month and therefore symbolizing new beginnings. It’s when the Masculine principle – the Sun merges with the Feminine principle – the Moon. We can see at as the two of them hiding away together all cozied up.

If we’re not paying attention the New Moon can slip right by us without notice. It may not seem like a large cosmic event, yet we can work with the Dark Moon energy to set our goals and intentions for the next cycle.

The ancients saw the New Moon as an auspicious time to ‘plant seeds’ and set intentions for the next 28-day lunar cycle. In bio-dynamic (moon-based) farming they plant on the New Moon or on the days following.

A New Moon is not a time to take action but a time to go inward and into deep contemplation. In Vedic astrology, they say not to take any action until the moon is visible again 2-3 days after the New Moon.

So what can we do during an extroverted New Moon?

Our busy body world doesn’t always allow for us to follow the moon rhythms (especially important for women – we are ruled by the moon!), to dance in the light of the Full Moon and to quiet down in the time of the Dark Moon.

So it’s important we follow this flow as much as we can and set our intentions during the New Moon, and harvest during the Full Moon. Go inward in the New Moon, and shine outward during the Full Moon.

The moon energies play out for each of us uniquely, so feel how it plays out in your own life. Some of us feel a lot during Full Moons others during New Moon. Much can depend on your birth chart and the position of the moon at the time of your birth and where the particular New Moon falls in your chart.

If you’re born on a New Moon (very auspicious!) you may feel enlivened and enjoy the Dark Moon energy. Feel it for yourself. At the very least take a few hours to practice a New Moon ritual and set your intentions for the cycle.

New Moon Ritual

  1. Smudge, sage, cleanse and purify the space however you like
  2. Sit quietly in meditation (10-15mins min)
  3. Ask yourself “what do I want to create this moon cycle?”
  4. Listen carefully to your heart
  5. Write down images, ideas and clarity that comes through
  6. Pull tarot cards asking “What energy can help me achieve these intentions?”
  7. Close your ritual space with prayer, gratitude, whatever has you feel complete
