Theme: Spiritual Insight into Your Relationships
+ a Rare Astrological Event

By Andrea Dupuis

On September 26th, Jupiter – our largest planet –  will be closer to earth than it has been in 70 years. Jupiter is a planet of Good Luck and blessings. In Hellenistic Astrology it’s referred to as “The Radiant One ” and is connected to the God, Zeus. It’s “The god of the sky” in Greek Mythology.

In the Vedic Astrology tradition Jupiter is called “The Guru” and is considered the Great Benefic, the most powerful of the good planets. This gives a sense of the magnitude of this planet and what it can bring. Sudden spiritual insights can occur, our optimism can increase, we may feel more bountiful.

Jupiter rules so many things: religion, philosophy, children, wealth, faith and devotion, optimism amongst other things, so all these themes can be highlighted.

This rare occurrence is happening in opposition to this New Moon in Libra. While an opposition is considered a hard aspect, it’s not something to be feared. Overall, this opposition will bring light, optimism, and the potential for a big awakening in our relationships (especially for Sagittarius Rising Sun Moon and Pisces Rising Sun and Moon).

Awakenings aren’t always pretty and easy, sometimes the biggest spiritual lessons sting the most. So in the midst of an awakening moment, we may feel we’re at rock bottom. Jupiter gives many blessings, but also asks that we listen to its messages and learn from them especially in regards to relationships. Use this access to deeper spiritual truths to make sense of your relationships and how to move forward within them.

This week the New Moon in Libra is highlighting our relationships, as Libra is the natural ruler of the 7th house, the house of partnerships – both romantic and business. It can also represent clients if you’re a business owner as you enter into ‘partnership’ with them.

It’s possible we will experience profound shifts in this area of our lives this week, as it’s time for a fresh new start in relationships – this is especially strong with a very rare cosmic event occurring on this New Moon.

Libra is a sign connected to union, to coming together, to merging with others. As we travel along the zodiac, it’s like a hero or heroine’s journey. The 1st house is about the self, and by the 7th house, we are merging and integrating with others. We are ready to learn the lessons associated with union with others.

In order to live in harmony with others, we have to learn the lessons of Libra. The archetype associated with Libra is that of the Lover and Partner. For this archetype, relationships are a spiritual path and the best way to evolve. The path of partnership asks us to constantly balance the wants of self and the wants of the other.  To choose unity over separation again and again.

We may find ourselves reflecting on relationships in our lives this week and deciding if they are the right fit, reassessing, and making room for more aligned connections. We may have a second chance at a relationship with someone from our past (since all the planets are still retrograding) or we may experience a spontaneous healing of an old pattern, people may be getting married, engaged and there may be an overall sense of excitement around relationships. If you’re single there’s a chance to meet someone new and fresh.

New Moon’s are the most yin time of the month, a great time to go inward into reflection, meditation and contemplation. Without the light of the moon we can find ourselves feeling introverted, more inward focused.

It’s a great time to make changes and set intentions – especially in relationships.

Are there ways I can be better and bring more harmony to my love life?
