Theme: The Real New Year

Welcome to The Real New Year! 🔥

In some ancient cultures the New Year was celebrated on the Equinox around March 20th – when the day and night are of equal length – and the day before Aries season begins. In both the Southern and Northern Hemisphere this time brings a big energetic shift.

This time of year can feel more alive, more possibility – like we’re ready for a new cycle. We may feel a strong desire to make bold moves. We can feel more energized, excited and ready to tackle challenges. We have left behind the watery and yin Pisces season and we are entering a brand new 12 sign cycle.

With this New Moon falling on the day after the Astrological New Year, we may feel a spark and zest for life, and feel ready to make things happen!

Aries is known as a sign about new starts, inner fire, the symbol is the Ram – an animal that is known for charging and facing challenges head on and being aggressive when threatened.

Aries is ruled by the planet Mars. If we have heavy Mars placements in our chart, or with an intense Mars aspect like we have during this new moon – we can feel agitation or aggression and anger boil up within ourselves or with others.

This New Moon is in a hard square aspect to Mars, so we have to watch what we say, be careful of our inner aggression and be especially patient. We must learn to channel any excess anger into ACTION.

Healthy anger is an important part of life, and it tells us where our boundaries have been crossed, or where we need to channel our emotions into action. This New Moon is a good time to contemplate our inner anger and the relationship we have with it.

New Moon contemplations:

What angers me the most currently?

What is my relationship with my anger like? Do I allow it? Do I hide it? Do I express it?

What is a good way for me to channel my anger into passion or action?

How can I deal with any agitation, anger or aggression in a healthy way?

This New Moon also signals our entry into Eclipse Season with the first eclipse of 2023 happening in Aries on April 19th.

This season will be fiery, powerful and brings epic fresh new starts. Eclipses are the most powerful cosmic events, and they change signs this year from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra. Eclipse season starts the month or so before and after each eclipse.

The intensity of this season can be welcome for some, but a bit unnerving for others. Again, so much depends on our own personal charts and how this New Moon connects with our charts. I always recommend learning to read your own chart so you understand how the New and Full Moons impact you personally.

Generally New Moons are the best time to set intentions for the lunar cycle, until the next New Moon. Use this charging forward momentum to set your intentions for what you want to create in your life. Now is the time to plant the seeds that will sprout in the springtime sun.

About the Upcoming Pluto Transit:

Alongside this New Moon, we have the planet Pluto entering Aquarius on March 23rd and staying there until June 11th, 2023. This gives us a taste of what’s to come when it stations there for the next 30 years come January 2024. This brings relief for late degree Capricorns who’ve had Pluto conjunct their Sun for the past several years. Early degree Aquarius Suns will start experiencing Plutonion Themes.

Pluto transits are some of the most important, challenging and life changing transits we can experience. Pluto transits slowly, so the effects are felt deeply. Pluto is connected to the underworld, so these transits can feel like a prolonged dark night of the soul when we have this transit to our Sun or Moon especially. On the plus side, Pluto transits bring HUGE life transformation and a deepening of self awareness. It enhances our connection to spirit and raises our personal power.

Collectively as Pluto enters Aquarius we will see major advances and changes to technology, more focus on the need for humanitarian efforts, a change to social media and the way we do things, and a death and rebirth for humanity as a whole. This process is very long and slow, so we will get just a small taste of it from March-June of this year. We will see mega advances in AI technology.
