Theme: Bringing The Spiritual Into Everyday

By: Andrea Dupuis

This week we have reached the final eclipse on the Taurus/Scorpio axis. For those with Sun, Moon or Rising in Taurus or Scorpio this may feel like a welcomed change! The heavy burdens of the past 18 months will now start to clear… phew. Sigh of relief.

Taurus is the archetype of the Sensualist, and Scorpio is the archetype of the Alchemist. This axis shows us that we need to strike a balance between going deep into the depths (Scorpio) and simply enjoying the pleasure of life (Taurus).

Where one sign is connected to spirituality, transformation and the underworld, the other is connected to enjoyment, nature, and is grounded into an earth based reality.

The highest exemplification of this axis is not to lean too far to one side or the other but to find an integrated balance between them.

We must learn to bring our spirituality into our daily lives, and bring our daily lives into our spirituality. They aren’t separate. Where historically we used to go to temples to meditate and pray, the temple is now within us and we must take it wherever we go and into the mundane.

Themes connected to this axis will be prominent around this Full Moon Eclipse and for two weeks afterward. It’s a perfect moment for self reflection as we wrap up this eclipse cycle.

We can look back over the past 2 years at the sets of eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio and take note of what occurred for us during this time – the first one occurred on November 19, 2021.

  • What has occurred in your life over the past two years in relation to your spirituality?
  • Have you felt more called to bring the spiritual into your daily life?
  • What feels different in your life since late 2021? (if not everything!)
  • How do you balance the spiritual with the practical?

Anyone who has planets close to 5 Degrees of Taurus or Scorpio will feel it the most, especially those with Taurus/Scorpio Sun, Moon and Rising.

This particular eclipse occurs in the sign of Taurus – a sign where the Moon is exalted – meaning the moon is happy there. Taurus rules all things enjoyment, pleasure, nature, a good meal and a nice glass of wine, fine fabrics. Taurus is also connected to mother nature, to the earth, to the tangible earth.

When we’re too up in our heads, or thinking too deeply, Taurus reminds us to enjoy life, slow down and stop and smell the roses. This is the best time to slow it all down, stop for a long breath of air, and take a pause.

In astrology, the Sun represents our life force, our solar energy, also known as our yang energy. Wherever you have sun in your chart is where you ‘shine’ the brightest and where you can use your life force in the best possible way.

When the Sun is eclipsed by the Moon as it will be partially on October 28th – We may feel drained mentally and emotionally. We may find ourselves feeling tired, needing extra rest, or wanting to spend time alone.

New relationships, contracts, program launches, or projects that begin during an eclipse can carry the energy of the eclipse and can feel somewhat chaotic over the long term.

If you do begin something new in the days before or after an eclipse, make sure to cross your T’s and dot your I’s. Pay careful attention to any details, and be open to unexpected changes. It’s no problem to still go ahead with it, especially if it was something initiated before the eclipse season. If you’re able to, wait a few days after the eclipse to make firm commitments or plans.

In ancient astrology, eclipses were very feared and people were warned not to venture out, get married, or do much around the eclipse times. It can feel like a deeply spiritual time where the veil is thin, insights are strong and intuition is heightened.

The exalted moon means this eclipse won’t be as intense as the recent eclipse on October 14th and will soften some of the typical unexpected events we see around eclipse time.

Eclipses bring fated and destined events since they involve Rahu/Ketu also known as the North and South Nodes of the Moon. These are calculated points which in our own charts guide us to our destiny. So you can expect big fated events to occur that you never saw coming.

These changes are not something to be scared of, very often they are powerful and exciting new beginnings.

Taurus is also connected to the economy and financial systems. As the 2nd house ruler, we may see some big changes with financial systems – shifting of tides, economic crashes or big unexpected financial downpours can occur.

This eclipse also occurs with Jupiter, this is a very positive influence that can bring good luck and blessings. Jupiter expands whatever it touches.

Overall this time can feel very unsteady, you may feel more tired, agitated and anxious than normal. Take these as a sign to rest, recharge and take it easy. This too shall pass.

Who this eclipse can bring the most potent change to:

Scorpio Sun, Moon or Rising
