New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees of Gemini
June 10 @ 3:53am PST/6:53am EST
Theme: Looking in The Mirror
By Andrea Dupuis
This week welcomes a New Moon Solar Eclipse in the sign of Gemini.
On the one hand Gemini is all about humor, fun, communication and play – on the other hand. Gemini is about facing our own ‘twin’ or shadow self.
This week we may have to metaphorically ‘face ourselves’ in the mirror. Is there anything about yourself you’re not wanting to look at? It doesn’t have to be negative, it can be something positive.
Let’s say you don’t feel successful enough, and it seems like everyone around you is successful. This week you may come face to face with the part of you that’s afraid of success, the part that thinks money is too material etc.,
On the flip side, you may notice traits in others that feel inspiring to you. These mirror traits can also come to the surface this week. Take notice of what you see in others.
It’s natural for this process to occur, and to unearth any deep held beliefs around eclipse time. The veil is thin and we may experience deep insights into ourselves and our lives.
Gemini is a dual sign, and the word Gemini literally means ‘twins’ in Latin. Not only do Gemini’s have two slides of themselves, they also reflect back the positive and more challenging sides of ourselves.
If you want the truth of who you are, sit across from a Gemini person (Sun, Moon, Rising, Venus, North or South Node) and you’ll see it clearly based on your projections of the person.
They are a mirror reflecting back to us the truth of who we are through our judgements.
During this Gemini Solar Eclipse, we may feel a bit of a mixed bag… both exciting, fun, playful events can take place, and we may be asked to look deeper at ourselves and our patterns this week.
This Eclipse is also conjunct Mercury Retrograde. It’s my view that retrogrades make the planet much stronger, so mercurial themes like communication, speaking, teaching, writing will be prominent this week.
A Total Solar Eclipse is super powerful and signals endings and beginnings – either literal or figurative depending if you have Gemini placements or if the eclipses touch a personal point in your chart.
Eclipses are one of the most important cosmic events we experience here on earth.
They bring about profound changes both personally and collectively. The changes can be felt either internally or something external can occur.
How they impact us personally depends if the eclipse touches a personal point in our birth chart. Nothing in astrology can be generalized – so much depends on the interplay of the planet with our own birth chart. That’s why some eclipses change our lives completely, and others feel like a small blip.
It’s best to feel into the energy and trust your own intuition… How does this particular eclipse feel for you? Does it feel exciting or unnerving? A combo of both? Or are you comfortable with the unpredictability?
Generally eclipses are a great time to rest, go inward, meditate, relax and stay away from agitating and busy places. It’s not advised in ancient astrology to sign contracts, start relationships, have big important conversations around the eclipses. Trust your own self, and follow your intuition if this doesn’t resonate for you. There’s no hard and fast rules.
There’s also a Saturn Square Uranus on June 14th – This eclipse coincides with the Saturn/Uranus Squares occurring all throughout 2021. (February 17th, June 14th, December 24, 2021) These aspects define 2021.
This is the 2nd of 3 very challenging and intense aspects of Saturn and Uranus. During these squares, we’ll feel we have one foot on the break, one on the pedal – all through 2021. Unexpected events can happen to and with the collective. There will be rebellion (Uranus) against authority and forms of control (Saturn).
