NEW MOON in SCORPIO ~ October 27 ~ THEME: Transformation and Inner Alchemy

NEW MOON Report for October 27 @ 8:38pm PST at 4° of Scorpio ♏

This Sunday we have an intense, watery and moody New Moon in Scorpio.

The Moon is in its fall (aka. detriment) in Scorpio. It’s a challenging placement because the nurturing Moon energies clash with fiery Mars energy. Mars the traditional ruler of Scorpio.

The Moon is soft, the Moon is even, the Moon is calm. Mars energy is drive, quick and hot-tempered. These energies combined create a lot of intensity and emotional unearthing.

When both the Moon and Sun are both in Scorpio expect a lot of deep emotions to come to the surface and inner turmoil can occur. We are also more psychically attuned than normal and the veil to other realms is thinner.

Scorpio season is a wonderful time to alchemize any dark deep emotions you’ve not been facing. To look at your shadow self and let her come to light.

The sign of Scorpio is deeply connected to the Witch Archetype, and we can learn a lot about how to best utilize Scorpio energy by studying and reading up on this archetype.

The Witch Archetype isn’t afraid of the darker realms, to dive deep, to alchemize and to transform herself again and again. She is Kali, she is Pele, she is the dark goddess. She dives deep and faces herself. She isn’t scared of sex, of the occult and risky subject like death, rebirth and the underworld.

When a Scorpio New Moon occurs we’re being called to access the Witch Archetype within us and allow her to come and alchemize whatever is happening in our lives so we can rise up from the ashes. Don’t be scared to go deep.

Scorpio season signals a time to start going inward, the nights get longer, we become more internal, our psychic visions increase, our depth and inward focus is at its height.

Use this powerful energy instead of fighting it. Tap into your inner witch and sorceress. Let the powerful emotions come forward to be transformed!

This New Moon is the best time to set your intentions about what new skin you want to step into your life. What’s the next greatest version of you? What’s the new magnetic self you’re creating in your life?

It’s a great time to go inward and avoid large social settings. Take the days around a New Moon to dive deep into your inner world and set your intentions for the next lunar cycle… Practice breathwork, yoga, meditation, long baths and other yin type activities.

Along with a New Moon we have a strong opposition to Uranus – the planet of upheaval and change and unexpected events. So pay attention to events occurring around the New Moon.

Reminder – Take actions on your intentions only when the Moon is visible again a couple days after the New Moon.

New Moon Ritual

It’s good to set your intentions on the New Moon but wait until it’s visible again in the sky a few days later to take any actions.

Some astrologers say not to socialise or even leave the house in the days surrounding a new moon. It’s a time for inner contemplation and quietude.

Keep your ritual simple:

Smudge, sage, cleanse and purify the space however you like
Sit quietly in meditation
Ask yourself “what do I want to create this moon cycle?”
Listen carefully to your heart
Write down images, ideas and clarity that comes through
Pull tarot cards asking “What energy can help me achieve these intentions?”
Close your ritual space with prayer, gratitude, whatever has you feel complete

What exactly is a New Moon?

A New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are Conjunct – meaning they are together in the same constellation in the sky.

The moon changes signs every couple of days and the sun every month or so. When the two most powerful luminaries conjunct and come together (the Divine Masculine principle represented by the Sun and divine feminine principle, represented by the Moon) it’s a powerful time to plant seeds’ that will be harvested in the full moon in a couple weeks.

It’s also when the Conscious (Sun) and Unconscious (Moon) combine – and we get deep spiritual insights. The unconscious becomes conscious around the New Moon.

Farmers and gardeners who plant by the moon (biodynamic farming, and the ancients knew this of course) know to plant seeds on the New Moon – especially the first day when the moon is completely invisible.

They harvest, prune and weed during the Full Moon when the moon is bright and full.
