The New Moon in Aquarius on February 4, 2019 (1:03pmPDT) is Lunar Imbolc in the Northern Hemisphere; the halfway point between winter and spring. The word ‘imbolc’ means ‘in the belly,’ referring to the gestation of lambs and the coming time of fertile birth.
Aquarius is a deep freeze. There is otherworldly magic in frost’s bite, exposing the numinous.
Crisp air makes for clear skies. Mountains white and sparkling in the distance. Powdery snow like land-cleansing milk. Gossamer tree branches mingling like lace. Interlocking plaits of preserved geometries. Icy sheaths amplifying the Truth.
With cold comes lucent clarity.
Be still within the clearness.

Zoom out. Take space. Weird your senses. This Moon brings the medicine of distance. It gives us an overview, objectivity, a mapping.
When you gaze down at our world from above, what do you see? What part do you play?
Worlds are built by thoughts, moments, and habituated behaviors.
Watch your own daily life, zig-zagging through dimensions years-over. What lands do you traverse? What folks are you neighborly with? Where do your memberships lie?
We are all members of many things; our life-force energy channeling through circuits that support various connections. It can be said that we belong to the influences that comprise our existence. We ‘belong’ to the places and people and organizations who allow us to be sheltered, fed, and clothed. We are members of that which gives us entertainment, purpose, and meaning.
From the food you eat to the media you consume, what memberships are you holding just by being, living, buying?
List your memberships.
Our memberships, whether deliberate or not, are agreements. Through them, we create reality by shared consensus. Both our active participation and our passive complicity allows things to exist.
The things we belong to are not just things in and of themselves. They are thoughtforms. Programs. Scripts. Codes. Cultures. They convey a kind of psychic unity called group mind, predicated upon shared ideologies. We can easily be trapped in the ivory tower of ideas as they infiltrate our lifestyle. Group mind can be liberatory or entrapping like a cage.
This Moon is an invitation to increase our awareness and employ our agency. To be active in our choices and consent. To embrace our individuality, and better serve our interdependence.
To un-settle ourselves and our societies into active reform. To pique our interest in the current of the air. To listen to the wind and identify the spreading of evolutionary dialogue and behavior. To be intentional in our ideation and our collectivism. To co-exist with intention and awareness of impact.
What programs are you running? Are they life-giving? Do you believe in them and how they are influencing the world? Are they setting you, and us, free?
Use these questions to assess memberships and attachments, and implement change.
Which ideas can set us all free? Empower them. Together, we can become resilient and adaptable, interweaving as a critical mass of progressive change.
A matrix is a pattern, a context, within which we develop. The word ‘matrix’ comes from ‘mother womb.’
Enculturated, we grow and adapt from the cellular structures and relational web that surround us. We are integral elements of this Web. We are in it, we are of it, and yet we are distinct from it. We reproduce the culture and the web – and we further evolve it.
We are similar in how the matrix shapes us, yet we are divergent. Individuated, yet never separate. We are shared in our humanity, yet unique in our true nature. We equally revere our sameness and our differences.
Genius in our genus, we love through sharing talents and connecting across differences.
We are influential in our wakefulness.
Free to challenge, disrupt, and reform anything untrue to our humanity, we are brilliant in our betrayal.
This Moon is an opportunity to re-humanize ourselves. To de-program, re-program, and revolutionize. Name where we are stuck, paralyzed, or frozen. Identify which ideas and attachments are numbing us. Whether our attachment is anxious or avoidant, both signify there is a charge. Seek to neutralize it.
Our attachments… Are we too close to them or too far away from them? If we can’t objectively see them and think through them, we are too close and need to employ more distance. If we can’t take action, we are too far away and need to become more engaged.
Wherever we are frozen, we can warm with the light of love. Wherever we are numb, we can reinvigorate with our active attention. Wherever we are barren, we can share our gifts. No longer about accomplishment; the focus now comes on how we can be accomplices.
What chains are we breaking, and who are our allies in the shift? Let’s bind “ our creative constituent elements together… analogous to what happens when lovers are close, under the covers and tenderly disposed.” (Blain Bovee)
As a general rule in Aquarius season, move from Head to Heart. What needs more affection, more warmth, the generosity of our attention? What wants to be warmed by the heart-fires? Where can we simply Love more, and share our gifts?
We are co-operating organs comprising a grand organism. Everything is awake, animate, and alive. Everything is conscious.
So, love it. Be true to it. Be true to yourself, be true to the truth of connectedness, and be true to love as a verb.

I am feeling electrical energy this week. Excitement. Provocation. I sense it is time for a shift. I am called. I am at the ready. I lean in, and I summon my courage. I don’t hesitate. I take actions swiftly, but not recklessly, relying on truth and my own genius to guide my way. I do my thing, and I am reaching out. My motivations are not selfish. Ultimately, I do what I am doing for others. As a trailblazer, I act on behalf of my people. This Moon gives me a chance to revitalize my communities, and hopes for the future. I take the opportunity to re-connect. As a chain breaker, my actions surprise even myself. It is never too late to change the way I am. My independence fortifies my connections. I came here to be a torch, and to shine my light so that others may become brighter in themselves. Together, fires ablaze, we make strength.
I put my messages out to the public. I am beginning a new chapter in my career; doing things differently here than they have been done before. My goals reflect how much I care for the Earth, the environment, and all of the creatures that share in this planet’s gracious abundance. I design my career around sustainability, the equitable distribution of resources, and revering our beloved planet. As my outer life circumstances change, I undergo a spiritual awakening. Something hidden deep within the recesses of my soul is stirring. My dreamings are giving me an upgrade. I am being prompted to free myself from my own unconscious limitations. As I become freer, I am more compassionate and purposed. I embrace the ways everything is different than it has been before, and I let my progress be public.
I am growing beyond the known, reaching curiously towards my next-level. I know a lot, and yet, I am always restless for learning. Teach me, world! Teach me, life experience! The place where I am learning now is in the realm of my own capacities. I sense that I cannot stay within the bounds I have previously traversed. Expansion is my directive. I am called to grow and discover more of what I’m made of. I understand that I may never quite feel prepared enough. Yet, I am called to begin this project of expansion now; to set my mind to it, and to connect with the communities that will help me bring it to fruition. My social circles are changing. If I act in accordance with my truth and show my gifts, I will attract the population meant to receive the next version of myself. Me, 2.0, here I come.
The place where I’ve been stuck have felt deep and dark. I now recognize that I need not fear my own shadow. I embrace that it is part of my wholeness; and that the shadow follows me as cast by the light. I honor the ancestral ties that give a legacy to my stuck places. I visit my gaze upon myself as a living ancestor. I live into epigenetics; knowing that the very expression of my own genes can change. That while the histories remain the same, the way I relate to the things we shared can shift. I am feeling into my subtle motivations and my deeper capacities. I am unlocking and unleashing my power. I accept that my presence in the world will shift as a result of this.
I am turning a new leaf in relationships. Starting new partnerships and bonds. Upgrading connections in existing romances. I change things in order to center honesty and mutual care. It feels good to talk frankly and openly about where each person is coming from. It feels right to explore attachment patterns, naming both dependencies and aversions. I’m looking to sink into a genuine space of appreciation with my partners and friends. Relationships are opening pathways in my life, and I intend to celebrate that and make space for it.
This time is for sorting and strategizing. I am cleaning up, setting things in order, and implementing. I am imprinting a new design for my own well-being. It feels like a period of self-improvement. I acknowledge myself for the new habits I have been able to introduce so far and investigate how I may want to take them further. Consistency is medicine for me – as long as I don’t over-attach to it. I contact spiritual powers to assist with my highest health. Movements are being made in ancestral territories. As I examine my traumas, I make way for their influence on my life to shift. My inquiries ripple through my lines. Embrace your ability to be present and touch depths.
This Moon is my remembrance and affirmation that I AM DIVINE, and the universe is my lover. As Divine Being, I choose to upgrade all things juicy in my life. I get to re-program my passions, and the degree to which I enjoy being alive. My creations, my vitality, my romances, my play.. I invite a special wildness to paint these areas so I can feel everything and radiate even more. I came here to enjoy it. I ask the universe to entice me with its fun and joyfulness. This Moon places a new Divine Signature on how I do relationships. This is a hot, possibly contested area of my life right now, and I am ripe to heighten the bar. I wave my magic wand – relationships, revolutionize! And receive a rain of gifts.
My intuition is a genius. I listen deep so I can go with my gut. I am starting a new cycle of my personal life. My inner relationship, my home, and my sanctity are in focus. On this Moon, I choose to belong. I speak my truth about what makes me feel safe and secure. I abide by myself and ask to be supported. When I am supported, I am able to protect my chosen family. My inner knowing will always put me on the path to wellness. Despite scheduling changes and impulses to burn the candle, I channel my energy into supportive rhythms. On this Moon, you can find me joining with others, and us putting our heads together. It’s as if I am in school. Conversations are happening. Debates. Dialogues. I am especially chatty. I feel a quest in the air. There is some evolutionary pulse emerging, and I am meant to bring it life. I tune my sensors to the highest and best visions possible. Freedom is the name of the game.
I affirm my worth. Whatever programs are running my financial life, now is my time to upgrade them. I am downloading new versions of assets, setting plans into motion on how to provide for my future. I am making goals for how to earn and distribute resources according to my values. I check my memberships and notice places where I tend to spend money and energy that don’t feel aligned. I reinvent those ties, trading them in for what matters to me now. In doing this work, I become more present to myself and my life. I become more available to my future. At home, I take actions and complete projects that feel necessary. I am ready to start fresh.
There are many versions of myself. Most of them are eccentric, wacky, or outside-the-norm. I love it. My favorite color is rainbow. My favorite animal is mythical – like a unicorn, but the weirder, the better. My favorite person is anyone who can roll with my genius, respect my autonomy, and give me lots of space. I am an angel. I have never before been this version of myself. I have also never been more myself than I am now. This is my truth. I get to be it, know it, and embody it. My freedom. The total honesty of my character. I am fully living into my gifts, and this time will make me more authentic than I ever knew possible. I am whelmed and dazzled with the gratitude of what it means to be so special. I love myself. I love myself. I love myself and all the life that moves through me.
The upgrades are so subtle, they are invisible. But I can feel them in the recesses of my being. I sense angels singing in my subconscious; humming loose my soul’s memories. I welcome this dispersal. It feels like a release. I am blessed in my own unraveling; the threads of my nature un-crocheting themselves. Each time I am undone is a chance to find who I might become. I plant seeds on this Moon in my dreaming. These seeds will lead to riches, to ripening, to profits. Those profits will be determined by my values. Guided by spirit, I trust that I can steward life however I am guided.
