Subthemes for March 2024:
- Suspending action to gather information
- Staying open to possibilities without getting attached to outcomes
- Reflecting on the last year and tying up loose ends
Happy Pisces season! In March, the personal planets will make their way into the final sign of the zodiac, bringing the astrological year to a close and creating a dreamy, slow-paced quality of time.
Over the next few weeks, action will become suspended in favour of reflection as we thoughtfully examine any situations in our lives that have felt unclear.
It is a period of taking stock before the new beginnings and rapid acceleration of Aries season.
Pisces is all about fluidity—when we’re in the midst of this energy, nothing is fixed and boundaries and perspectives are in a state of flux. During this time, the focus will be on observing and absorbing new information from our surroundings without trying to get our way or force an outcome.
Pisces is paradoxical—it teaches us that the less we assume, the more we come to know—the less we do, the faster we can move forward.
In essence, the first half of the month will be characterized by a necessary pause—the energy may seem to slow down, and it could become more difficult to get a foothold on things you’re trying to get off the ground.
We will be asked to trust in what we cannot see and to resist imposing our expectations on whatever situation we’re grappling with.
Our relationships will be of particular importance, and we may find ourselves fixated on someone’s potential or daydreaming about best-case scenarios…
Keep in mind that we are on the cusp of eclipse season which could deliver a harsh reality check for some of us at the end of the month. No matter how good something seems, it will be important to take it with a grain of salt—at least for now.
The effect of Pisces transits can feel a bit like gazing into a funhouse mirror—reality becomes distorted and often comical as we are forced to see things in new and startling ways.
We may question what is truth and what is illusion, eventually having to admit that we can’t ever really know anything for certain, not even ourselves.
This will be especially true when the Sun meets up with Neptune on March 17. When these planets come together, we need to be mindful of deception, particularly self-deception—making excuses to justify our actions or turning a blind eye to information that contradicts what we want to hear.
Are you trying to make something fit or playing the victim to avoid taking responsibility? These will be questions to consider.
If you find yourself disassociating or attempting to escape uncomfortable feelings, remember, there is a fine line between accepting a situation you can’t do anything about and settling in a situation you’re afraid to leave.
Dreams will also be an important source of information this month, acting as a bridge between our unconscious and conscious minds. You can use their symbols and metaphors to gather insight and clues into situations from your waking life.
Dreams also show us the magic of inaction—sometimes all it takes to solve an unsolvable problem is a little power nap. Keep an open mind as you analyze what comes up and remain curious about what they are trying to show you.
On March 21, Venus will meet up with Saturn in Pisces. Venus is exalted in this sign, meaning it is most able to achieve its potential—we see it at its best. Because this conjunction will occur at a degree also associated with Pisces, it will temper the somewhat sobering effects of responsible Saturn. This will be a good day to have serious discussions about your long-term plans or commitments related to love, children, or creative projects.
Then, on March 25, we have a lunar eclipse in Libra conjunct the south node, indicating a need to release what is no longer serving us and accept whatever hidden information has surfaced. This is where we may see the bubble burst and get hit with a reality check. Because it’s occurring in Libra, it will draw attention to anything that is out of balance in our lives—especially in our relationships.
Eclipse energy can be chaotic and unexpected events are characteristic of these periods. Treat it similar to a mercury retrograde and avoid signing contracts, setting intentions, or making important decisions.
The challenge this month will be to hold things loosely: people, situations, projects, etc., and allow them to show us who or what they are.
Things may feel just beyond your grasp and there could be an uncanny feeling of not being able to put your finger on something. Allow things to move away from you, and release the need to know how it will happen or why it worked out a certain way.
It will all make sense in time.

Tips for dreamwork:
Our dreams can provide insights that help us solve problems and trust our intuition. When we dream, emotions and perceptions are presented as symbols and archetypes. By deciphering these tangible images, we can better understand the dynamics at play in our lives.
Tips to get started:
- Establish a solid nighttime routine. Begin winding down about an hour before bed, turn off screens, and read, journal, or listen to a meditation.
- Set intentions for sleep. What answer are you searching for? Speak or write it out.
- Keep a notebook beside your bed, and write down everything you can remember as soon as you wake up.
- Explore the images and metaphors from your dreams and their possible meanings. Did you see a field of sunflowers? Were you swimming in the ocean?
- Consider how these symbols may apply to a situation in your life. What is your higher self trying to communicate?
