Overall Energy

June is one of those magical months where the energy shift is palpable as the slow, sensual pace of Taurus season is replaced by curious, quick-witted Gemini.

Where we previously may have wanted to stay at home eating ice cream in our pyjamas, now there is an urge to communicate, socialize, and follow our whims—wherever they may lead.

Gemini calls us back into the world and implores us not to take life too seriously. This is because Gemini fears missing out—the minute it thinks it has settled on something, another option seems to catch its eye.

Why commit to just one thing when you can try everything

On a collective level, Gemini energy invites us to appreciate each moment and interaction without committing wholeheartedly or worrying whether there will be more.

It asks us to bravely follow our nudges down winding rabbit holes and open ourselves to fresh perspectives, knowing there is no such thing as dead ends—only redirections…

Although Gemini is one of the most optimistic and excitable signs—the challenge is maintaining that excitement long enough to see things through—whether it’s a relationship or an idea. It’s pleasant enough to flit through life like a hummingbird, tasting the nectar of every passing flower,  but our experiences cease to have meaning when we don’t stay long enough to penetrate their depths.

Gemini encourages us to explore all possibilities, but eventually, the party ends, and we must find our way home (queue that song by Semisonic). Therefore, as we reach the middle of the month and transition from Gemini to Cancer, it will be essential to amass all the information we have collected and decide which ideas and relationships are worth pursuing and have our hearts.

Over the next few weeks, embrace your natural curiosity, allow yourself to be inspired by others’ work, explore new connections, and entertain fresh perspectives. This is a time to rediscover who you are and what you like, then use those experiences to fine-tune your path forward.

Gemini is also ruled by Mercury and brings attention to the power of our thoughts. This can be a promising time for manifestation if you pair your brilliant brain waves with well-timed action. Remember, it doesn’t matter how great an idea is if it never sees the light of day, and the act of creation is always more valuable and fulfilling than passive consumption.

As we journey through the signs of Gemini and Cancer, we are learning that the secret to fulfillment is not the sheer number of experiences we can cram into our short lives—it’s the meaning we extract from those we do have.

Exploring our options is not about neglecting responsibility and avoiding commitment—it is meant to inspire us and take us in new, unexpected directions so that we can decide what we want with conviction—knowing we have eliminated all other possibilities.

Transits

Jupiter in Gemini Trine Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius

Last month, Jupiter made its way into Gemini for the first time since 2013, so its big, buoyant energy will be front and centre over the coming weeks, especially during an auspicious connection with Pluto on June 2.

Pluto began its retrograde cycle at the beginning of May and will continue its backspin until this fall, dipping into Capricorn one final time. In this way, we are being given the opportunity to dig into what we’ve learned since 2008 and integrate those lessons. Jupiter will contribute to this process by exposing and expanding what has been buried, helping us see the bigger picture. It will show us how each challenge we faced over the last decade contributed to an overarching theme, allowing us to uncover greater meaning from our experiences.

In simple terms, Jupiter and Pluto represent the concept of “big power.” Together, they highlight the importance of giving our shadows air time and remind us that what we suppress or avoid only grows and gains more power over us. The more we try to ignore our shadows, the less control we have over their effects. Therefore, the ultimate goal of this transit is to make the unconscious conscious. Jupiter is the great teacher—so consider what you have learned and what still needs work. The period from 2012 to 2013 may have particular relevance.

The Parade of Planets

June 3 and 4 are highly auspicious days, with two significant transits occurring alongside a rare planetary alignment that will be visible from Earth. While this is not a true alignment and simply an optical illusion, if you live in the Northern hemisphere, you may be able to spot Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune forming a line known as a “parade of planets” diagonally across the sky.

The waning moon will also be visible between Mars and Uranus as it transits through Taurus. Those with major placements in Aries, Pisces, Taurus, and Gemini may feel this energy most strongly, as these constellations will all be implicated in the parade. These signs could experience moments of clarity, heightened intuition, or renewed motivation during this time.

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter in Gemini

On June 4, Mercury will meet up with Jupiter as it crosses the threshold between Taurus and Gemini. This transit can manifest in several ways: at best, it expands our minds and broadens our perspectives—at worst, it leads to exaggeration and oversharing. Although there will probably be increased communication in all forms, whatever comes up is unlikely to provide the clarity you’re looking for.

There may be a tendency to focus only on what we want to hear or information that supports our point of view. It also could be more challenging to read between the lines and get down to the details to determine what is relevant. This transit is associated with optimism, but it’s a fine line between expecting the best and flying too close to the sun. Keep your ego in check to avoid overconfidence or arrogance if someone questions your ideas or beliefs.

Venus Cazimi in Gemini

Also, on June 4, Venus will meet up with the Sun in its annual cazimi. This represents the culmination of a cycle in our lives related to relationships, creativity, and pleasure. You may find your authentic self shines more brightly today, making it an ideal time to attract beneficial connections and opportunities. If you don’t feel like socializing, this is an excellent time to reflect on what has transpired in your friendships and intimate relationships over the last year.

Was there a major theme or lesson? Did this teach you anything about how you want to be loved or what you need from your partnerships? If things have felt unbalanced in a relationship recently, this is a great day to hash out any issues—you may feel more clear on what you want and able to take steps toward it as your feelings may be closer to the surface and more accessible.  This energy will be especially potent for those with major placements in Gemini, Aquarius, or Libra.

Mars in Taurus Square Pluto Retrograde in Aquarius

Whenever Mars and Pluto are in a challenging aspect, it’s usually a good idea to lay low. This complex energy often results in conflict, accidents, and increased discord. When used correctly, a connection between these two planets can provide the courage and stamina we need to overcome obstacles or hardships. However, more often, it signals a point where long-standing tensions boil over and become explosive…

If there’s an issue you haven’t addressed or your boundaries have been repeatedly crossed, it may be harder to “let it go,” but be mindful of the potential for long-term damage, mainly if a situation triggers feelings associated with an unrelated situation in the past.

Saturn Retrograde in Pisces

Beginning on June 29, Saturn will retrace its steps through Pisces over the next four and a half months. During this time, we can anticipate obstacles, restrictions, and an overall slower pace in this area of our chart. When Saturn stations direct, our focus is on taking responsibility in the outer world: our home, finances, career, and family, etc., but when it’s retrograde, we’re asked to take ownership of our inner world and the way we respond to what happens externally.

In Pisces, issues related to mental health and addiction are of particular importance, especially the way we use distraction or self-medicate to avoid dealing with challenges. Saturn rules foundations and long-term achievement, so this is also a good time to evaluate where you have been directing your energy—where it has paid off and where it hasn’t—then course correct.
