Theme: Revealing Truth About Our Relationships

by Andrea Dupuis

This week we have a powerful Full Moon in the sign of Libra. In Greek mythology Libra is connected to the goddess Themis. She is shown holding the scales with a blindfold on. Libra energy is very much about balancing the scales, diplomacy, fairness, justice and truth.

Not only does Libra exemplify divine law and order, it’s also the natural ruler of the 7th house – the astrological house associated with marriage and partnerships (including business partnerships and clients). It is the house of ‘we’ and ‘us’.

Libra always takes both sides of an issue or challenge into consideration and comes to a fair choice based on truth.

This week Libra highlights our relationships and asks us to be honest with ourselves if our relationships are out of balance.

This Full Moon has a close hard square aspect to Pluto, so we can see shadow elements arise around relationships this week.

On one end of the spectrum an aspect to Pluto can reveal hidden truths, deception, betrayal and sneaky behaviour. On the lighter end of the spectrum it can mean a sudden intense transformation of a relationship. This could show up as a realisation in the ways we’re showing up, a revealing of a truth that leads to healing or a deeper commitment to make it work. It can also lead to relationships being ended for good.

Pluto can also bring up obsessive thinking, old traumas, past relationship pains and hurts. These things are brought up so we can take a closer look and transform them.

In archetypal astrology, Libra is represented by the archetype of the ‘Partner’. For this archetype, relationships are a spiritual path and the best way to evolve.

We can use this Full Moon to highlight any ways we’re showing up in relationships in an unfair or unbalanced way…

Are we giving too much?
Are we not giving enough?
Can we balance the needs of others with our own needs?
Are we taking others into consideration in our choices?

Full Moon’s bring an opportunity to shine a light on anything we’ve not been taking a look at in our lives. Libra – like the goddess Themis – is the most concerned with Truth with a capital T.

This week we’ll need to take a close look at how we’re showing up in ALL of our relationships, and be brutally honest with ourselves. We may not love what we see and yet we need to walk in the light of the Truth.

See your rising sign below for how this Full Moon will impact you uniquely. It’s also hugely beneficial to understand how to read your own chart. Each transit, lunation, eclipse and another event will impact you uniquely. Learn to read your own chart.

Who this Full Moon may impact the most:

Libra Sun, Moon and Rising

Scorpio Sun, Moon and Rising

Capricorn Sun, Moon and Rising

Aquarius Sun, Moon and Rising

As always Leo and Cancer are both impacted by every Full and New Moon as their planets (the Sun and Moon) are involved.

Taurus Sun, Moon and Rising will start feeling the eclipse season effects this week too.

Eclipse Season is here…

The Libra lunation is setting the stage for Eclipse season (the couple weeks before and after two back to back eclipses) – a time for big endings and new beginnings. We are leading up to a Partial Solar Eclipse in Taurus on April 30th, and a Total Lunar Eclipse on May 16th. We’ll be in ‘eclipse season’ from April 15th to June 1st. The effects of this season can be felt for 6 months.

Eclipses are the most powerful cosmic event in my opinion – they offer an opportunity for the biggest and most profound transformations for us, especially if they hit important points in our charts.

The time leading up to an eclipse can feel unnerving, we may notice we sense something big is about to happen. We can feel fearful, on edge and not fully on the earth. It’s super important to slow down around eclipses, to tend to ourselves and to be careful not to take big risks or overcommit. Big events can occur collectively related to Taurus and Scorpio themes. One of the biggest things we may see is changes to the financial system and the way money and resources are handled.

For this first eclipse and leading up to it, spend much time in nature, earthing yourself, feet on the ground, enjoying the simple pleasures of life like wine, good food and all the earthly delights. Stay attuned with the physical world around you and stay off news and social media as much as you can. Really enjoy the world in front of your eyes.

More to come before the eclipse!

Fire Burning Full Moon Ritual for Releasing

(Do this under the bright light of the moon if you can)

Prep: Have a pen, paper, glass or metal container filled with water and tweezers on hand.

    1. Cleanse and purify your space by burning rosemary, bayleaf, cedar, sage or any herbs related to your heritage.
    2. Take some time to meditate by listening to some music, using a mantra, do breathwork or a guided visualization – anything that works to get you into a meditative space. You can sit at your alter, outside or just somewhere in your home that feels good to you.
    3. Close your eyes and feel deep into your heart – don’t rush this process, really feel into it
    4. When you feel ready to write down anything in your life you feel ready to let go of. It can be names of people you want to cut chords with, patterns, old hurts. Space them out so you can cut them up to burn. You may have several listed on the page.
    5. Rip or cut up the words you wrote into separate pieces. Fold each one up individually and burn over the container of water (using the tweezers so you don’t burn your fingers)  As the burns really imagine letting it go. I’ve noticed the ones we’re the most afraid to let go of don’t burn as fast!
    6. Thank the fire for helping you let go and transmute and close the space.
    7. After you’ve done the fire burning, cleanse yourself in water  – have a bath with rose petals, salts, crystals, feel the energy of this issue, pattern, person, whatever it is really drain from your system as the water drains. You can have a simple shower instead, just envision it all draining and you starting fresh.
    8. Put on some nice fun dancey music
    9. Dance in the moonlight! Celebrate the newness you’ve created by letting go
