New Moon in Virgo Astrology Report ( Sep. 19, 2017)

Once again we start a new cycle with this months New Moon at approximately 10:30 pm. Encouraging us to shift gears after a full and eventful summer for most. Summer time is always wonderful but I always feel ready for fall when it comes. I look forward to sitting by the fire and getting some long over do chores done.

With the New Moon in Virgo you may be feeling an urge to get some work done and to work out the details in whatever is present right now.

Whether it is house work, career or anything in between it is a good time to focus on the practical. Paying attention to the details but hopefully not getting lost in them. The Virgoan energy wants to perfect but can become obsessive. Try to manage your time wisely and learn to let go when its time to move on to something else.

Virgo is about health and refinement. It is a good time to tune into your body and your physical needs. Whether it is time for a fall cleanse or getting back into an exercise routine now is an excellent time to do it! Do some body talk and let your body speak to you! With a helpful sextile from Ceres in Cancer she reminds us that in order to serve ourselves and others at our full potential we have to take care of our needs. Self care is as necessary as healthy eating habits. Be sure not to overwork yourself with all this Virgo energy! Take time to have a bath or to get out into nature. Our emotional needs are important. When we take care of our emotional body we are ever more present in our day to day lives.

With a square from Saturn in Sagittarius there is tension around our beliefs. Unconscious beliefs can hold us back and can influence our lives in a negative way. We may come to face some of these beliefs if we take steps to realign ourselves in a new and improved way. Often growth triggers the unconscious patterns that we have been “comfortable” in do to familiarity. But what is comfortable and familiar is not always healthy. Saturn reminds us that we are responsible for ourselves and the choices we make. We inevitably will have to suffer the consequences or the karma of our actions. We have to use our power to learn from our mistakes and move in a healthier, more empowered direction.

Chiron is also square Saturn and opposite the Moon and the Sun. Wounds around our ego, identity, health, body, co-workers and service we want to provide for the world are being pulled to the surface.

Chiron in Pisces reflects to us how we have disassociated from our body and our power (square to Saturn). Our wound is also our medicine. Chiron in Pisces is encouraging us to step onto our spiritual path. To dive into the unconscious but to always come up for air. Not just to day dream and imagine but to visualize practical goals and bring them into fruitition. Working towards creating your ideas and dreams into reality. The Virgo energy helps us to be grounded in this and to make it all happen. But in order for it to work we have to be present in our bodies. Do some simple practices to bring yourself into your body. Whether it is through yoga, meditation, dance or just bringing mindfullness to daily tasks it will help. Listen to the wisdom of your body. Since disassociation is due to trauma this process may be difficult. Be kind to yourself and seek help when you need it! Moving through this stuff is not an easy task and is continuous work.

We may be feeling sensitive to with Chiron in the mix. Be aware of picking up other peoples energy. Be sure to clear your own energy if your struggling to feel what is yours and what is not. With Pisces energy and the square to Saturn boundary issues may come into play. Be sure to say no when you need to and create boundaries where necessary.

Mental health can present itself with all the Virgo! Be aware of being overly critical towards yourself and others. Sometimes we need to filter through the voices in are head and let them know their opinions are not true or useful.

Try to be a witness to your thoughts. Your thoughts do not make you you! Weeding out the mental garden takes work. It starts with compassion and empathy. Bring yourself back to the body and your breath when this happens. These thoughts can also be a doorway to the unconscious bias beliefs. Pay attention and seek community if your struggling.

Virgo wants to bring us to our greatest potential in not only serving community but also ourselves. Reflect on what magic you want to bring into this world. It doesn’t have to be earth shaking, sometimes the simple and practical is best. It takes time for our potential to unfold and to be realized. Start with baby steps. Its never about the destination. Its about the journey. Virgo will help us get there!

Set some intentions and enjoy the New Moon!
