Theme: Invest Your Energy Wisely

On May 7, we have a stabilizing new moon in Taurus that will help restore equilibrium to an area of our lives that has felt stagnant or imbalanced.

To re-establish the flow of energy, we will need to examine where we have been diverting our energy and which endeavours are worth our investment. Most importantly, we will be called to confront our relationship with reciprocity—how we exchange energy and resources with others.

Taurus rules material abundance and self-worth while embodying the qualities of patience and perseverance…

Therefore, this lunation will show us that in order to receive the wealth and long-term security we crave, we must give generously and invest wisely.

We cannot receive the love we want when we meet others with cold aloofness, and we cannot build the life we desire when we continue to direct our time and resources toward things that do not serve us.

The law of karma states that all actions have consequences—whatever energy we put into the world will be returned to us at some point in the future. This highlights the importance of carefully choosing our expenditures, whether this is our work or our words.

When we give freely and generously to others, we may find that events magically work out in our favour, and help comes from unexpected sources.

However, when we approach life with a scarcity mindset by clinging tightly to our resources and closing ourselves off to others, the flow becomes disrupted—this can make it feel like life is working against us.

True generosity, whether physical or emotional, requires vulnerability and surrender. It means sharing what we’d rather keep to ourselves and loving without expecting anything in return.

Most of us give our time and energy with the expectation that it will result in a certain outcome—people will like us, someone will want to commit to us, or we’ll be rewarded financially.

This often happens unconsciously, especially in our relationships, as we attempt to get our needs met by loving our partners the way we wish to be loved.

If what we want most are words of affirmation, we might compliment our partner and then become upset when they don’t say something kind in return. It takes work to understand the motivation behind our actions and how we project our needs onto others through misplaced generosity.

Similarly, if we do things to be perceived a certain way or feel needed, we are using our resources to gain a sense of power and control.

When we do not feel like we are enough or are afraid of abandonment, we believe the only way to receive and keep love is to earn it or make others dependent on us.

Those who are on the receiving end of this energy may become accustomed to accepting others’ assistance and eventually come to believe that they cannot make decisions or do things themselves.

This new moon will also occur in a close conjunction with Uranus. In its most positive manifestation, Uranus gives us the courage to walk our own path and flout convention; however, in shadow, this energy can create wounds around hyper-independence and reliance on others.

If we have been let down in the past or experienced inconsistency when it comes to having our needs met, it can be difficult to ask for help and lean on people. There is a fear that the support will be taken away if we let our guard down and grow to depend on someone.

We may reluctantly accept help to appease others but cannot fully accept or express true gratitude. And when we are afraid to receive love and support, we become unable to give it to others.

As you navigate the energy of this new moon, consider what you want to attract into your life and how you can invest in that vision through your actions.

If you want more authentic love, how can you show up in your relationships with honesty and openness?

If you want to attract more money, how can you use your skills and abilities to serve others?

If you want to feel healthier, how can you nourish and move your body?

Understand that Taurus is slow-moving energy, and it may take some time to see your intentions come full circle.

However, the overall energy of abundance that characterizes this new moon means favours and good deeds paid in the past could come back around in the form of fortuitous opportunities and alignments.

Keep in mind that small gestures and efforts carry more weight now and could have unforeseen consequences that manifest by the full moon in November.

Self Reflection Questions:

Where am I withholding my love and resources? What am I most afraid to give away?

How do I use generosity to avoid fears of abandonment or not being enough?

What is currently stealing my energy? How can I invest my resources in ways that are more meaningful?

Ritual for Setting Intentions and Manifesting

This New Moon in Taurus is the most potent new moon of 2024 to set your intentions and manifest. Taurus is the sign of material manifestation.

With 5 planets in Taurus (Sun Moon Jupiter Uranus and Venus) we have major planetary support right now to set intentions for what we want to create in our lives.

One of the easiest ways to attract more of what you want into your life is to express gratitude for what you already have.

A gratitude journal creates an unconscious bias toward the positive—when you teach your brain to look for something, it starts to see it everywhere—this also helps you identify what you want more of in your life.

Begin your morning by writing three reasons today is going to be great. Be sure to write them in the present tense.

Next, write three things you are grateful for. Be as specific as possible.

Then, before bed, write down three positive things that happened throughout the day. Did your predictions come true?

Bad days happen to all of us. If you’re going through a particularly challenging experience, it may be helpful to focus on what you learned, how you navigated what happened, and how you will continue showing up for yourself.
