On September 17, a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces will shatter our illusions and illuminate something previously hidden from view.
This event will likely manifest differently for each of us, depending on how well we have integrated the lessons of the previous eclipse cycle, which is now coming to a close.
Some may experience fortuitous opportunities and blessings, while others may be confronted with shocking or unpleasant revelations. Either way, this rapidly moving energy may cause our lives to shift suddenly in one direction or another.
Lunar eclipses are super-charged full moons that activate the North and South nodes—invisible points where the Moon’s orbit intersects the Earth’s path around the Sun. The North Node represents where we are going, while the South Node embodies what we must leave behind.
The nodes occupy opposing zodiac signs (sister signs) for approximately 1.5 years. As each zodiacal axis becomes activated, we are confronted with challenges and experiences designed to restore balance in this area of our lives and help us move forward on our respective journeys.
Although we are moving through these lessons the entire time the nodes are in a sign, eclipses amplify and speed up the process, providing opportunities to realign with our path.
Since 2023, the nodes have been moving through the Aries/Libra axis. This eclipse marks the beginning of a new cycle characterized by the energy of Pisces and Virgo.
The Pisces/Virgo axis is about discerning fact from fiction, fantasy from reality—Pisces sees all possibilities, while Virgo is searching for supporting information.
Both signs struggle with overthinking and procrastination and can become lost in a sea of what-ifs that prevent them from moving forward.
Reconciling this energy involves committing to what feels right intuitively and pursuing it intentionally through structured action, releasing the need to be perfect and have it all figured out.
Over the next couple of years, we will be challenged to surrender our need to know and trust the unfolding of our story as it takes various twists and turns.
As we learn to release our expectations, the path will be revealed piece by piece, attracting unforeseen opportunities and allowing our dreams to manifest naturally.
However, if we continue ignoring our inner voice and resist this process, we may find ourselves faced with a dark night of the soul.
This cycle will activate our intuition and force us to see the truth—for better or worse.
If we’ve been lying to ourselves or refusing to address our wounds and negative patterns, these eclipses will make them impossible to ignore.
Pisces rules addiction and dissociation—it embodies the way we use substances and other toxic stimuli to simultaneously run from our problems and search for meaning.
We are learning that no one is coming to save us, and we can choose to change the trajectory of our lives at any time.
Ultimately, this eclipse will give us a preview of what is to come by lifting the curtain on something obscured—and several interesting aspects are contributing to this energy.
First, Pisces’ ruler, Neptune, will be conjunct the moon. These are two of the most intuitive planets in the zodiac, and when they come together, our psychic perception is heightened.
Right now, your dreams may be more vivid; you may find that you can see people’s intentions more clearly, or you might suddenly be struck by insights and downloads.
Intuition is a skill that can be developed and honed like any other—it is something we all possess, though we may write off or explain away its presence, especially when it tells us something we don’t want to hear.
This is part of the challenge inherent in this eclipse: you may discover things you aren’t prepared to accept or wish you never knew…
What you decide to do with this information is up to you—but there will likely be signs pointing you in a specific direction.
Additionally, the Sun and Moon in opposition, will create an auspicious “kite” pattern with Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune.
In astrology, kites consist of a Grand Trine, two sextiles, and an opposition. This shape is sometimes associated with fate or destiny because kites are thought to contain a gift that can be unlocked if the opposition is resolved.
To have this shape appear in the sky during an eclipse means there may be something available to us that we’re not currently aware of and may soon be revealed—whether this is information or an opportunity.
Over the next week, we are being asked to let go of our illusions and see what we’d rather ignore so that we can construct a new reality based on truth. If you can stay with the discomfort, you may discover a blessing in disguise.
Self Reflection Questions:
In what ways do you avoid facing the truth? What comes up for you during moments of stillness?
What has your intuition been telling you about the people around you? Is there something you’re choosing not to see?
Which habits or addictions are currently preventing you from showing up as your best self?
Who this Full Moon Eclipse will impact the most:
Pisces sun, moon, and rising
Virgo sun, moon, and rising
Aries sun, moon, and rising
Eclipses bring fated and destined events since they involve Rahu/Ketu also known as the North and South Nodes of the Moon. These are calculated points which in our own charts guide us to our destiny. So you can expect big fated events to occur that you never saw coming.
These changes are not something to be scared of, very often they are powerful and exciting new beginnings.
Overall this time can feel very unsteady, you may feel more tired, agitated and anxious than normal. Take these as a sign to rest, recharge and take it easy. This too shall pass.

Ritual to Reveal the Truth
Note: Many people avoid setting intentions or engaging in rituals during eclipses due to their volatile and unpredictable nature. You may wish to perform this ritual before or after the eclipse.
Deception can be disconcerting energy to be around—whether it is related to a person in your life or simply a nagging feeling that something isn’t quite right. Although it is possible for our past experiences to cause us to develop ungrounded suspicions and anxieties, if you are experiencing a persistent feeling of unease, there might be something you’re not seeing.
There are several tools you can use to tap into your intuition and parse out the truth—tarot or oracle cards are one method; a pendulum is another option.
Candle gazing is an ancient form of divination used to drop into a meditative state and invite answers to be shown to you. The act of watching the dancing flame can help calm your mind, allowing intuitive insights to surface.
To perform a simple reveal ritual, you will need a candle and a crystal of your choice. Moonstone, lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, and labradorite are all associated with intuition, wisdom, and knowledge acquisition.
Light the candle and make yourself comfortable. Holding the crystal in your receptive (non-dominant) hand and gaze into the flame. Try not to blink. Acknowledge any thoughts that arise and then release them one by one.
Close your eyes and focus on the image of the flame now visible in your mind’s eye. Invoke the truth by stating, “let the truth I seek reveal itself to me. Let what is hidden come to light.”
Extinguish the candle.
In the days following the ritual, be open to any information that surfaces (including from dreams).
