New Moon in Aries & Saturn Ingress into Aquarius ~ Tuesday March 24th, 2020 ~ Theme: Fiery New Start

New Moon at 4° Aries Tuesday March 24, 2020 @ 2:28am PST

On Tuesday we’ll have a New Moon in the sign of Aries, signalling a fiery NEW start.

On the positive side, an Aries New Moon brings forth something fresh, pioneering and exciting. This is very good news as we can expect something new to be presented to us this week, depending where Aries falls in your natal chart. (See Rising, Sun and Moon signs below)

Collectively we may have new ideas and see new possibilities laid out in front of us. We may feel ready to take charge and make big bold changes.

While Aries can bring bright and positive changes it also has its challenges. Mars is the ruler of Aries. Mars is a malefic and known as the ‘Planet of War’ because of its dark red color (similar to that of blood) and it’s symbol is the ram.

Ram’s are known for charging and facing challenges head on and being aggressive when threatened.  When we have heavy Mars placements in our charts, or collectively experience intense Mars energy like we are during this New Moon – we can feel aggression and anger boil up within ourselves or with others.

People can act especially aggressive, frustrated and full of rage right now. Be careful of the words you speak and the harsh thoughts you think. Try not to act outwardly.

Anger and frustration will appear in the days before and after this New Moon.

Try to alchemize your anger into ACTION.

What are some actionable steps you can take after the moon becomes visible again? Aries loves to make plans and take action. Use this time to plan your next course of action!

Saturn Ingress into Aquarius – March 21, 2020

This New Moon is important, and I also want to speak about a VERY important transit occurring the day before the New Moon on March 21

Saturn ingresses into Aquarius where it’ll stay until July 1 2020, then return back to Capricorn. It’ll make its final station direct in Aquarius on December 17, 2020 where it will stay for 2+ years.

This is the first time we’ve experienced Saturn (The Lord of Karma) coming out of Capricorn since December 2017.

Saturn is one of the MOST important and powerful planets in astrology. We need to pay attention when Saturn transits occur.

How much has changed in your life since late 2017? If you look back and map out the changes, you might be astonished at the difference (even beyond the global crisis at the moment).

Saturn in Capricorn has been very hard on all of us, and has had us mature and face themes related to Capricorn.

What is Capricorn closely tied to? Old structures.

The old structures started to fall when Pluto and Saturn conjoined on Jan 12th, 2020 – this breakdown will continue throughout the year. Birthing a new age!

Saturn wants us to mature and become more disciplined in the area it transits. As Saturn enters Aquarius expect our focus to shift into these themes:

  • Humanity
  • Innovation and technology
  • Human Rights
  • Youth and young people
  • Revolutionary thinking
  • Social media
  • Rebellion
  • Large groups of people
  • The greater network

The next few months will be a preview of what will occur when Saturn finally enters Aquarius in December 2020.

Pay close attention to what occurs now, as it foreshadows what will occur when Saturn stations there in Dec 🙂

What exactly is a New Moon?

A New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are Conjunct – meaning they are together in the same constellation in the sky.

The moon changes signs every couple of days and the sun every month or so. When the two most powerful luminaries conjunct and come together (the Divine Masculine principle represented by the Sun and divine feminine principle, represented by the Moon) it’s a powerful time to plant seeds’ that will be harvested in the full moon in a couple weeks.

It’s also when the Conscious (Sun) and Unconscious (Moon) combine – and we get deep spiritual insights. The unconscious becomes conscious around the New Moon.

Farmers and gardeners who plant by the moon (biodynamic farming, and the ancients knew this of course) know to plant seeds on the New Moon – especially the first day when the moon is completely invisible.

They harvest, prune and weed during the Full Moon when the moon is bright and full.

New Moon Ritual

  1. Smudge, sage, cleanse and purify the space however you like
  2. Sit quietly in meditation (10-15mins min)
  3. Ask yourself “what do I want to create this moon cycle?”
  4. Listen carefully to your heart
  5. Write down images, ideas and clarity that comes through
  6. Pull tarot cards asking “What can help me achieve these intentions?”
  7. Close your ritual space with prayer, gratitude, whatever has you feel complete
  8. Note – don’t take actions on your intentions until the Moon is visible again 2-3 days after the New Moon
