Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 8°of Gemini (Sidereal Taurus)
November 30th, 2020 1:30am PST
Eclipses are one of the most important cosmic events we experience. They signal big endings and beginnings and usher in change. During eclipse season, and especially with an unprecedented seven in the past year, the motto is: Expect the Unexpected.
The partial Full Moon Eclipse in Gemini is the second to last eclipse before the end of 2020. This year we had a total of 7 eclipses, which is very rare. Most years we have 4-5 maximum.
This is a Penumbral Eclipse, meaning it only appears a little darker than usual as opposed to a full or total eclipse, like the Solar Eclipse we’ll see on December 14th in the sign of Sagittarius.
The effect from a partial eclipse isn’t as intense as a full one, though the impact is still felt, especially for those who have personal planets in the signs of Gemini or Sagittarius.
We may find ourselves feeling chaotic, irritable, tired, agitated and sleepy around the eclipse. We can have wild and extreme dreams. Alternatively, many of us LOVE the fun and exciting eclipse energy and love riding the flow of new possibilities. We are each so unique, so feel into it for yourself!
Traditionally, eclipses aren’t the best time to do the typical set intentions or release ceremonies, to travel, make new commitments, sign contracts or start brand new projects.
It’s best to rest, meditate, pray, and tap into your yin energy around eclipse time. If possible, wait to sign contracts or make firm commitments until a few weeks post eclipse season.
When new relationships, contracts, or projects begin during eclipse season they often carry the energy of the eclipse and can feel chaotic over the long term.
In ancient astrology, eclipses were very feared and people were warned not to venture out, get married, or do much around the eclipse times. It can feel like a deeply spiritual time where the veil is thin, insights are strong and intuition is heightened.
If you need to take action on something wait at least a couple days post eclipse before beginning.
Big life changes (on an inner or outer level) can occur this week especially for those who have the eclipse occur near personal points in their natal chart such as:
- Those with planets within 5 degrees of the eclipse point (8 degrees of Gemini)
- Gemini Rising, Sun or Moon
- Sagittarius Rising, Sun or Moon
- Gemini or Sagittarius North or South Node
During this particular eclipse, the energy of Gemini is at a high. We may feel very airy and ever changing our minds this week. We can feel mentally overloaded, mentally overstimulated and spend a lot of time overthinking. The highest exemplification of Gemini is wit, intelligence, being communicative and vocal. Use the heightened mind for good, communicate what is necessary.
Gemini is the sign that occupies the 3rd house. This house is all about our local life, our local community, siblings and relatives, workmates and friends. Where possible focus more on your close relationships, local life, and your community.
Eclipse Contemplations:
Where am I stuck in old mental patterns? What am I overthinking and overanalyzing?
What can I do to get out of my head and into my body?
This eclipse is also occurring a couple days after Neptune goes direct. Time for major spiritual transformation!
We are gearing up for a big total Solar Eclipse on December 14th in the sign of Sagittarius, followed by a revolutionary Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Aquarius (which I’ll write more about closer to the date). December is a going to be a wild month.
