Full Moon in Aries – October 1, 2020 @ 2:05pm PT

Theme: Illuminating Wounds

An Aries Full Moon is known to bring agitation, fights, aggression, frustration and anger. It’s common to feel heated and lash out angrily. Our inner fire is high right now, so we must be careful what we say or do so not to regret it later when the heat cools off.

Aries is ruled by Mars, and with a retrograde Mars the energy could feel more internalized and directed at self. It could feel like rage and anger is festering just below the surface, ready to explode. Depending on our own personal Mars placement, some of us may feel the anger and agitation directed outward.

As with each zodiac sign, the sign has an empowered expression and a shadow expression. Aries is a very powerful sign and represents warriors, courage, bravery, assertiveness and leadership. On the other hand, the shadow expression is competitive, mean, selfish and wants to wins at all costs.

This Full Moon, it’s important for each of us to tap into and connect with the Aries Archetype within us. Aries is the archetype of the Warrior. Are we using the power of Aries for good, or to gain power selfishly? Part of the healing journey is to integrate the shadow and to embody the empowered side of each sign.

The Moon is also conjunct with Chiron, an asteroid known as ‘The Wounded Healer’. Chiron represents our biggest wound, and our biggest opportunity for growth in this lifetime. Wherever Chiron sits in our charts is where our greatest trauma has occurred, and the area we are here to transform.

Once we master the lessons of our Chiron, we can support others with our knowledge.

No one is exempt from the challenges of their Chiron. Everyone is born with the same planets and asteroids in their charts in different places. No one is exempt from the gifts of the planets and the challenges. (for instructions how to look yours up read the full report on RisingWoman.com)

With the Moon conjunct this point, expect to have deeper trauma and wounds come to the surface this week. The illumination of these wounds and challenging issues in our lives can create a sense of frustration and anger as it’s tied with the Aries Full Moon.

We may collectively feel these wounds come to the surface. Under anger is usually an untended wound. Now is the time to make the connection between anger and wounding.

Mars is also square with Saturn, square aspects create tension. Saturn is the Lord of Karma, so we can use the energy of Saturn to take responsibility for where we need to heal and use the discipline of Saturn to go into the healing process.

Saturn went direct a few days before the Moon, so we have it’s support in this process.

Be careful of the words you speak this week and be careful not to lash out at others. Be disciplined in your speech and actions. Think twice before you lash out, and instead look within.

Full Moon Ritual – best done under the bright light of the moon

  1. Have a pen and paper handy
  2. Take some time to meditate by listening to some music, using a mantra, anything that works to get you into a meditative space
  3. Close your eyes and feel deep into your heart – don’t rush this process, really feel into it
  4. When you feel ready to write down one area or specific thing (or person) in your life it’s time to let go of (ideally related to where the full moon is happening in your chart, see your Rising Sign above).
  5. Have a container of water nearby, and burn the piece of paper (use tweezers to hold it without burning your fingertips). As it burns really imagine letting it go.
  6. After you’ve let it go, cleanse – bath with rose petals, salts, crystals, feel the energy of this issue, pattern, person, whatever it is really drain from your system as the water drains.
  7. Put on some nice fun dancey music
  8. Dance in the moonlight!
  9. Pull some tarot or oracle cards for advice for the next month until the next full moon (‘What do I need to know about the next month?’)

WHAT is a FULL MOON?

A Full Moon occurs when the sun and moon are opposite each other. This creates a sense of tension. It’s when the sun shines the most light on the moon. The Sun is our conscious and the Moon is the unconscious. So it’s an ideal time to LET GO and to bring the dark into the light to be released.

Every Full Moon is a chance to look back at the intentions you planted two weeks ago during the New Moon. What were they? How have they manifested? Are you taking action toward them? Now is the time to reassess and release anything standing in the way of your hearts desires. The two weeks between the New and Full Moon is a great time for new beginnings. The two weeks after the Full Moon is time to let go.

When we plant our New Moon intentions, we can’t just plant the seeds and wait for them to grow. We need to fertilize the soul, water them, make sure they get plenty of sunlight – most importantly we need to weed and pluck out that which doesn’t serve us. The Full Moon helps us ‘pluck’ out the weeds.

When the moon is full, a light shines on the areas of our lives it’s time to release and let go.
