New Moon in Gemini Report, June 3rd @ 3:02 am PT 12 Degrees
Phew, we made it through the Full Moon in Scorpio! What a wild ride.
Did anything happen for you this last full moon related to letting go of old patterns? (We’d love to hear in the comments below what occurred for you.)
Luckily the stars are gifting us with MUCH lighter and brighter energy this week – it’s a much needed cosmic smooth out as the New Moon moves into Gemini. PHEW!
Can you feel the shift? Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel?
We just entered the active and airy Gemini season – which is a much lighter, more extroverted, air element moon in contrast to the dense earth (Taurus) and water (Scorpio) moons we experienced this past month.
A Gemini New Moon is a light and fun new moon and a much-needed break after the last couple of weeks! It’s a good time to plant seeds and intentions in the area Gemini rules in your chart (see the signs below).
While last month was more intense on an emotional level you can expect this New Moon to occur on a more mental level. It’ll bring more communication, mental downloads, chattiness and saying what needs to be said. You can receive more texts, emails, phone calls, news, and insights.
It may feel more chaotic and busy than usual so make sure to ground yourself by putting your bare feet on the earth, drinking plenty of water and resting as much as possible.
Gemini is a dual sign, and the word Gemini literally means ‘twins’ in Latin. It’s named after Castor and Pollux, twin demi-gods in Greek mythology. They were responsible for bringing favorable winds for shipwrecked sailors who made sacrifices to them.
This New Moon asks – What is your equivalent to a ‘favorable wind’? What do you want to come your way? What choices can you make and what sacrifices can you make in order to create it?
The Gemini New Moon is the best time for setting intentions around what you want to communicate and to whom. It’s also a great time to set intentions around choices you need to make in order to have what you want.
Once you’re clear what you want, you have to overcome the dilemma of Gemini – the two sides of ourselves have to come together and make a choice.
The theme of Gemini is also shown in Tarot as the Lovers Card. The Lovers card represents choices… the man and the women represent the two sides of oneself, the two halves of a whole person, the twins. These two sides must come together in unity and make a wise choice.
Mercury is also in its home sign of Gemini, giving the theme of communication even more of a boost. If you’ve been holding anything back now is the time to speak it! Write, speak, journal.
Please read your Rising Sign below (followed by your Moon and Sun).
Instructions for looking up your Rising (Ascendant sign):
If you don’t know your Rising Sign, you can pull up your chart here. Enter your info… and you’ll get your chart (note you must have your accurate birth time to use your rising sign, even two minutes off can change it.)
The one on the right with I, ASC is your Rising Sign, so look at that first, followed by your Moon sign and your Sun Sign.
What exactly is a New Moon?
A New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon are Conjunct – meaning they are together in the same constellation in the sky.
The moon changes signs every couple of days and the sun every month or so. When the two most powerful luminaries conjunct and come together (the divine masculine principle represented by the Sun and divine feminine principle, represented by the Moon) it’s a powerful time to plant seeds’ that will be harvested in the full moon in a couple of weeks.
It’s also when the Conscious (Sun) and Unconscious (Moon) combine – and we get deep spiritual insights. The unconscious becomes conscious around the New Moon.
Farmers and gardeners who plant by the moon (biodynamic farming and the ancients knew this of course) know to plant seeds on the New Moon – especially the first day when the moon is completely invisible.
They harvest, prune and weed during the Full Moon when the moon is bright and full.
